The Massachusetts State Legislature has voted a resolution to support Mayors for Peace - the first Legislature in the USA to do so! The Director of the Western Massachusetts American Friends Service Committee, Jo Comerford, wants it publicly known that it was Kato Shonin and the Walk for a New Spring who brought the message of the Mayors for Peace to the cities and towns of Massachusetts as they walk from town to town, throughout the state last Spring. The Mayors and town governments heard the message and responded affirmatively. Then the State Legislature caught the fire. We believe that other state legislatures will want to join in with this great effort.
