Project #1 |

Tropical housing |

Design requirements for a four unit housing prototype: |
Design a housing prototype containing four units each on a parcel approximately 100’ x 100’. A part of six similar parcels planned in a remote beach town in Caribbean region of South America. The site is planned as a part of government financed affordable housing projects. |
Climate is generally "hot and humid" with South-west prevailing wind most of the year. Provisions for such natural disasters as recent Tsunamis and hurricanes should be considered. Constructability is also an important factor of the requirements: i.e., it is rather easy and fast to build, using local materials and labors. (Similar project) | ||||
